    Default The Ulfberht Sword

    Just watching PBS, a Nova special on the Viking's Ulfberht sword. Cool stuff. Worth tracking down on the web or watching for the re-run.

    I don't have tv anymore but heard that was going to be on and wished I could watch it. They had a really great one a few years back on the traditional manufacturing of katana that was incredible.

    Hmmm, I almost wish I had cable for this. Was that aired on Leif Erikson day? We were gonna have tater tot hot dish to celebrate (I just call it tot-dish ), but were so tired from work and had leftovers instead.

    Hi Roughkype,

    I see your sig mentions meetups. How do I find out about those? I practially NEED a meetup, or mentor or someone in person to show me some things. How does that work?

    The meetup thread is in the Parlour | General Razor/Shaving Discussion | Get Togethers and Meetings. There is interest brewing right now in a northern California meetup.

    We also have a Local Help list in our Wiki (click the Library link above, then go to the last entry Additional Resources, then Local Help). Hmm, I just looked there, nobody in California, Nevada, or Oregon. I'll shake a couple of trees and see if I can get some other guys to add themselves. Can't promise anyone nearby, though.
