    Default Hello from Belgium!

Hi Guys (& possibly girls) !

I've been reading the forum for a while and finally thought I would start contributing a bit
I'm still trying to find my first straight razor but there just seem to be such a huge selection that's not making it easy!

I've tried everything from electric shaving, disposable store brand razors, the more expensive disposable ones and all sorts of tricks to keep my blades sharper for a longer time.

The old way of shaving seems to be a good one and might be one to fit me. (even tho it might be a challenge not to bleed to death )

Hope to read some good stuff here and try to contribute as well

    Grtz,
    Dirk

Hey Dirk, it's great to have you here. It's an exciting step getting your first razor. It's also exciting buying your second and third...
    Hope you enjoy it.
I love the smell of shaving cream in the morning!

    Thanks
I'm sure that if I like SR shaving I probably wouldn't be able to contain myself and indeed get a 2nd or third or...

The only problem now is finding a good one, a good shop and sifting through all of this information.

I hate buying something as a starter cause I have no clue what I'm doing. Just don't feel like buying something cheap and simple and have to "upgrade" in a short time. I don't mind getting more "hardware" over time but just not one to try and discard and then get something decent.

Guess I'll be reading the forum for the rest of the weekend

As you browse, check out some of the advertisers on SRP such as Straight Razor Designs, Classic Shaving and Vintage Blades or look in the classified section of SRD. That scanning will give you a view of quality razors you can get without breaking the bank. Being in Europe, I'm sure there are some shops (brick and mortar or online) that are also purveyors of high quality steel razors. A major investment isn't required to get a high quality razor.
