I don't even have a straight razor and gear yet, but I am really liking this forum/website. I have a few old razors that were given to me years go. I'll have to dig them out and take some pics. Last I saw them, the steel was in fairly good shape (no noticeable pitting or chips), but the scales on one were broken at the rivet. Neither are in any way "shave ready".

I live in Utah and am as interested in restoring, honing, and maybe even making blades as I am in using them. Surely there is a wide range of things to learn about there.

For now, I'm just absorbing as much information as I can. Thank you all for contributing to the pool of knowledge!
