Thanked: 1Newbie from Jersey
Hello everyone. I thought I would check in here and introduce myself to all the fellow members. I am a 34yo guy from the NYC burbs in north Jersey. Like many others here probably did I started shaving years ago using cheap disposables. I moved on to the fancier multi blade razors that cost a fortune to buy. I always got razor burn and ingrown hairs and figured that was just part of the job. Then I decided to try using a DE blade and have done so with great success. Using a badger brush and some MWF soap with my Merkur razor and Feather blades was quite a treat and made shaving enjoyable. So that brings me here. I have finally taken the plunge into using a straight razor. I purchased a basic Dovo carbon steel 6/8" razor and the necessities to go along with it. I will admit the learning curve is steep and I have learned a few (bloody) lessons so far but I am determined to keep at it. I look forward to learning from everyone here as well. Thanks in advance for all the potentially life-saving information you all can provide. :-)

rfn379,
Welcome to SRP. Pleased to have you aboard. Take some time to tour the website, especially the SRP Library. You'll find lots of information there to assist you in your journey as a straight razor shaver. Of course, the members will also be more than willing to help you as well with advice. Just ask.

Glad to have another bleeding new member. Actually, I haven't bled much, but have credited that to reading the wiki and watching a ton of videos here. Keep learning is my motto. I suggest you slide in slowly also.
