Thanked: 0Hello from northern California
I am very excited to get into straight razor shaving and been doing a lot of research. Joined since this seems to be one of the largest communities for straight razor. Got my new shaving kit in the mail and cannot wait for it to arrive

Thanked: 983G'day and welcome to the forum Zarici. Tell us what you ended up ordering. You've landed in the right place for any remaining questions you might have. Plenty of help available here.

Thanked: 0I ordered the Parker disposable blade straight razor to start with, since i am currently deployed to Afghanistan and did not want to mess up or lose a nicer razor, or try and learn how to strop properly out here. combine that with a Parker badger hair brush and some Taylor of Old Bond St sandalwood cream
so far i have greatly enjoyed the experience, and am completely sold on straight razor shaving. it was rough first couple weeks, but after more research i started getting the hang of shorter smoother strokes which has made it a lot better. still carry cuts all over almost every day, but they get smaller and less each day.
thanks for the site, it has offered me a lot of great insight and knowledge into this awesome new world, i am even thinking of teaching my son, who is just now 13, to shave with a straight when he starts shaving, since i figure it is a better experience and would benefit him greatly to learn from the start.

Warrant Officer Brian Null... In case you happen to run across a 'Null' it might be my boy!!
You all stay safe over there, and as my dad once told me, keep you head down and your ass high!!!

Good luck to you bro.. stay safe!!

Thanked: 983Well, I don't know what they teach in other countries, but the Aussie Army taught me to keep my arse down as well...Actually it also taught me how to stay below ground level...Which is also why we became known as 'Diggers'...
