Thanked: 1Hello there!
Hello there! Although my username is AzleConcertina, please, for all reasons imaginable, call me Jack. While I don't own a straight razor at the time of writing this post, I do hope to get one in the very near future, and figured it would be a good idea to learn a few things about using them.
Anyway, if you have any questions about myself, please, ask, and I'll answer to the best of my ability!

Welcome to SPR, Jack.
Do check out our library, it is a very good place to learn all there is to on this way of shaving.
Our classifieds should be able to provide you with a good straight once you do decide to get one.
Any questions, any at all, just ask.
We'll do our very best to help out!Bjoernar
Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....

Welcome Jack. You're about to have a little frustration, a nick/cut or two, maybe a little razor burn in the beginning, and a LOT of fun. Along the way you'll get a few history lessons, tutorials on everything from tallow to stainless steel, and converse with people all over the globe. It's likely to be a very enjoyable journey. Take pride in all of it. See you around the boards.

welcome, and remember to ask a lot of questions of us. there is a lot of knowledge here, and everyone has figured out what works for them so you'll need to decide what works for you. take is slow and remember you'll have some mediocre shaves before things better. it takes about 100 shaves before you get confident. always start out going with the grain (wtg) for quite some time and then slowly work in across the grain (xtg) and then if you face can stand it against the grain (atg) you may find that wtg work just fine and you may want to choose comfort over closeness. good luck and enjoy the community.
