Default Hello from Airdrie Alberta Canada!

    Hey all,

I have been lurking for a bit and finally decided to make a post...

I am a true newb and have been diligently doing my research with plans on taking the leap into straight razor shaving. I don't really have a whole lot to say yet but I will be participating more and more as I start down the road... Thanks for giving us a place to learn!

Nice! Has any one from our area have any recommendations on a brick and mortar store to go in an handle some stuff? I am not against online at all, but I would love to see some stuff in person...

Welcome. There is not much in the way of brick and mortar in Alberta, I had the same thoughts and picked up my first razor in Kelowna, but you will still have to get it honed. One of our members in Lloyminster makes custom razors, but that may be a bit much for a new shaver. I think there are a few members from Calgary, someone may be able to take you under their wing.

Knifewear in the Inglewood area of Calgary has a fair selection of soaps, creams and aftershaves. They also sell razors, strops and brushes. I believe they carry Dovo/Merkur. Prices are a bit high but hey, its Calgary
