    Default Hi from London UK!

    Hello from London!

I fairly recently decided to start shaving like a man, and bought a 4/8 C V Heljestrand to learn with. A few months and one notable (but fading) new scar on my chin later, and I'm beginning to be able to get a really good shave out of it.

Unfortunately I didn't anticipate that going down this route might be a tiny bit addictive. I recently bought a slightly beat up sheffield steel razor in an antique shop, and am slowly accumulating the tools I will need to attempt to restore it. This seems like a brilliant place to ask about just how to go about that without completely destroying it or losing fingers. So thanks in advance for any tips anyone can give me!

Have a chat to the folks in Workshop. They'll be the ones to advise you on how to go about restoring. There are some brilliant and talented people here who do unbelievable work in that area.

Welcome to the forum by the way. You have landed in just the right place.

Thanks very much! I'll post something in the workshop when I've managed to take a few pictures of my attempts so far!
