    Default Machinist, only slightly insane.

    Hey there,

I've been a straight razor enthusiast for coming up on a year now. Already a victim of RAD. The hobby goes well with my profession. Having access to a full machine shop is nice for modifying razors.

So far my favorite shavers are a Wade and Butcher "For Barber Use" and a Boker with ivory tang. Ok, it's probably celluloid but it's still pretty.

Also I have a Holly Mfg. that works very nicely. The edge was chipped and I nearly passed it up at an antique store in Virginia City. Once honed, it became a great little shaver.

My wife cringes and runs at the sight of my shaving. Yet the four year old kid is fascinated by the display and asks for a pink razor of her own.

I hail from Cali, in the valley. Like fer sure.

Welcome mechromancer, another person from California always pleases me, being that I reside in Long Beach myself. Enjoy your stay in SRP. I think we should open a support group for RAD anonymous. Although lets be honest.... we'd just give each other more ideas of things to buy...

Welcome! I am also a long time machinist and those skills have helped a lot in the razor hobby!

Welcome! As you need some nice, pink G-10 scales, Shoot me a PM! I seem to have inherited 3 sets!
