Thanked: 1Hello from Iowa
Good evening all,
I have been inspired to learn more about the straight razor world. I have been DE wet shaving for not quite two years now, I have been ranging further from home in search of razors in the wild. Yesterday, while on a search in SE Minnesota, I happened to meet Randy Tuttle (Randydance) at an antique fair. He and his friend were on a razor hunt as well and I just happened to be listening to them while they talked with a vendor. We struck up a conversation and the two gentlemen helped me navigate the fair. I enjoyed the time spent with them and felt that this would be a good place to learn more. I presently don't own a straight, but I think that will be remedied in time. You all have a great representative in Randy and I am happy to be here. I look forward to hanging around a while.

Thanked: 1184Hello and welcome. I expect if you pick up straights you may share they same feeling Randy has for them. It's hard not to enjoy them once you get going and bringing others into the fold is half the fun for me.
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

Thanked: 2209Hi Dave !
It was good to meet you at the Rochester Gold Rush Antique Fair. It is rare that Ron and I meet another wet shaver there but the 3 of us then met the 4th guy toward the end of the day! Since he lives in St. Paul I hope he contacts me in the future.

Thanked: 2209BTW all you SRP guys, Dave is an experienced DE wet shaver and would be a good resource for any questions about such. At the Fair he demonstrated a very good knowledge of the DE & SE razors that we came across.

Dave,
Welcome to the forum!!
Your luck is alive and well!! Wish I had been as fortunate!! The only thing I ran into at the antique malls, etc. was my wife with that look of "are you looking at razors....again". No Dear, what made you think that???
Enjoy the forum, and, learn all you can, anytime you can, from Randy!!
Regards,
Howard
