    Default Hello from Copenhagen, Denmark

    Hi there.

I am happy to be at this great forum. As everybody here I am new to shaving with a straight razor. Bought four old razors cheaply in a fleamarket....... I think they look to be in a good condition although I will need to polish them and make a new edge. I have sharpened my kitchen knives for some time and wanted to have even more to do with hones so
SR's was a natural progression. Looking forward to learn a bunch of stuff here.

    Thanks.

    Peter

Welcome to SRP Peter, glad to have you with us.
Make sure you know what you're doing before attempting to sharpen SR's, it's quite a different ballgame from sharpening knives. There's loads of good videos out. I'd recommend gssixgun, he's a member here and a great guy that knows what he's talking about.

Hi and thanks for the welcoming I know it is difficult and probably as a newbie I should probably just start with a "ready to shave" razor....but should anything go wrong with one of my razors it is not such a big deal. I bought them for 50 Swedish kroner a piece and will have learned a lot in the proces. And I love the proces of sharpening and honing so it is not time wasted. I have already downloaded a ton of videos. Thanks for your recommendation of gssixgun.

    Cheers
