Thanked: 0From the desert of Southern Arizona...
Hello...
I'm not entirely sure what to write. I'm a husband, a dad, a minister and an officer in the USAR. My life is a blend of the old and the new. Whereas I love much of modern life, there are just some things which are better in the past i.e. sports, books and music.
I love learning new, old things like this foray into straight edge shaving. I'm basically here to glean the wisdom of those who know what they are doing.

Welcome, I probably should have read this before replying to your other thread, I didn't realise you wanted advice from people who know what they are doing, most of the time I have no idea .

Welcome theRevCol,
As a guy raised in AZ (with a grandfather that worked the mines of Bisbee, and a mother raised in Flagstaff), I welcome you!
I'm pretty new myself, but after a couple of months and learning from some great guys, I really look forward to every shave. It's been awesome. What I've picked up so far is that you need to start with some fundamental techniques, but then really learn to be in tune with your face and hands. I know that sounds a little weird, but I continue to slightly tweak each stroke in order to get an enjoyable, yet efficient shave. I even shave at night so I can relax and take my time. The fun part is that you're going to get better with each shave.
Enjoy the ride.
Darren
