Thanked: 0Hi from Victoria Australia
G'day all, just joined up. Have been shaving with a DE for a couple of years now and have just managed to pick up 3 SE razors so hoping to make the progression to those soon. They will all need restoring and I don't think I trust myself to do a good enough job, so if anyone has any recommendations of restorers in oz I would be grateful. I have a blue wonder, a gotta and a bengall. If I were to only get 1 restored initially which one would you start with?
cheers from the snowman!

Hi Snowman,
welcome to SRP. You've got some good razor makes there. I regularly use several Bengalls and a Gotta; they're good razors when honed right. For honing and restorations you could do a lot worse than our very own Oz (onimaru55). He's a man who knows straights and can give good advice on restoration.
Like you, I used a DE for a couple of years before getting in to straights: it's an interesting learning curve and there's a lot of good resources and assistance available at this place.
We have a lot of fun here, so welcome aboard

Welcome to SRP! As to your question, perhaps we can advise on that if you have a picture of all three. If there is no bad pitting, especially at the edge, all three should be good shavers and I would send off the prettiest one to be restored.

Thanked: 983G'day Snowy, I would suggest you get in contact with Oz (onimaru55) and send all three, with return postage included, to him. Let him make a call on which one gets the resto job first, and ask his advice as to the worth of the remaining two as to restoration.
Welcome to the forum mate.
