I am a new member, with no experience in straight razor shaving, looking for good tips on supplies

Welcome to SRP! Basically, you will need:
- soap
- brush
- strop, preferably leather and linen/canvas
- hand-honed razor
- later on: fine hone or paste on leather/fabric
Take a look at the classifieds here for a razor, as most members sell them shave-ready, which is a must. You will find a lot of information in the beginner's guide: Straight Razor Place Wiki:Books/Beginners Guide - Straight Razor Place Wiki. Other than that, watch many videos and ask many questions.
