    Default Hello from TN

New member from TN. I have a few straight razors that I have inherited over time. I thought I should learn more about them and how to use them.

Welcome Fadex. What are the conditions of your razors? It's always great to have a razor that has been handed down through the family. With proper care your grandchildren's kids will still be using them. If you can post some photos of your razors the members here can give you a basic assessment of their condition and what, if any, work might be needed to get them into tip-top condition. For sure you will have to have them honed and you will need a strop to get started. Lots of info here and lots of hands-on help if you need it.

    Regards - Walt

    Hey Fadex,

    Welcome!!

Glad you joined and congrats on the heirlooms. I was lucky also and had 6 or 7 razors handed down and it's always a special shave when I use one of them.

There's lots to read here on SRP, and an excellent place to start is here First straight razor shave - Straight Razor Place Wiki
Also the 2 links below in my sig line have lots of good info too!!

If you run into something you can't find the answer to, there's plenty of good folks here to help, so ask away!

    Enjoy the forum, and again......Welcome!!

    Regards,

    Howard

Welcome to SRP! It is very cool that you have inherited some SR's. 1+on the advice above- do plenty of reading in the wiki (library). In particular, you'll learn what "shave ready" really means and be able to better determine what work your razors will need to fit the bill. Good luck!

So I can't remember how to post pics. Do you still have to host them on another site first?

Thanks for the link. Unfortunately it doesn't appear that the directions work for the mobile version. I will try again from a computer.
