Hello gramma, welcome. presuming from the areas your shaving and my powers of deduction i am assuming you are of the lady variety. so are you thinking of a double edge safety razor or a straight razor?
do you have trouble with stainless or carbon steel? do you know if they contain nickel or chrome in small quantities or something?

Thanked: 0hi Bombay,
I honestly don't know what I want. just something with no nickel or chromium. I don't think I have a problem with stainless and don't know anything about carbon steel.

Hi, and welcome, I am allergic to a lot of metals, even my gold wedding ring, I get sort of lumpy/blistery rashes if I am in contact with it for too long, I am presuming that Bombay is correct about your ladyness, there is a ladies forum, not that you are not more than Welcome here, its nice to have the company of someone who isn't a smelly boy. But my point is that oneof the other ladies may be able to point you in the direction of the correct sort of razor, i don't shave my pits but i think it might be tricky with a straight due to the length of blade, though as I say I haven't tried.
Maybe a double edge made from stainless steel might be a good starting point, that way you could get different blades to put in it until you found one you like You coild also do this in the shower I thin.k, whereas you would not want to use a straight razor where there is ANY chance of slipping.
I hope you find what you are looking for
All the best

Ok in light of the chromium in stainless thing, what about something silver or gold plated, or just silver or gold. I don't know if anyone makes a decent plastic headed razor.

I wonder if the Teflon coated stainless blades would prevent any allergic reaction.... unless your allergic to Teflon??

Gold plated single edge safety razors like the GEM micromatic can be found cheap on the 'bay. Gem stainless blades with teflon coating are available, and in my opinion shave better than any DE out there. The SE handles a lot like a disposable too, it's pretty forgiving.
