    Default Hello from SoCal

Just wanted to say hello, for the past few weeks I've been reading posts here and I thought I'd join in on the fun. I'm interested in buying my first straight razor guess it's a mid-life crisis thing, lol. My birthday is this Sat. I've used about every shaver but this weapon over the years. I've recently returned to wet chaving with a DE razor after many decades and I see the SR as the next step.

I've survived a tour in the Marines, nearly 30 years of marriage, couple decades of riding Harleys and raising a daughter so how bad can a 3" surgically sharp piece of steel be on my neck? It seems you all have a great place to hang out and share information and I have found it very beneficial. I'm looking forward to participating with you in my new once again discovered hobby. Has anyone else felt tike time goes in circles and what you once did as a kid is now being done as an old timer?

Happy Birthday and thanks for you service. +1 on what Robbie said - nice to have another SoCal member. And Harley rider to boot! Haha.
I love living in the past...

Fortunately for me they do still make humans that young. Oh, and I'm in Long Beach.

Wowwww they must not make socks like they used to. I'm lucky if I don't burn through socks in a couple years.
