HI New Here
Hi all, Just logged on. Just started shaving with a Safety Razor and would love to try a Straight Razor soon. I'll be doing a lot of reading here for sure. Thanks for looking.

Welcome. I took the same route. The first order of business was to come up with an alternative to the typical department store fare that irritated my face and gave me poor shaves, and the safety razor took care of that. Then I wanted more and moved on to the straight razor. That's what I really enjoy using.

Welcome to SRP. A lot of the prepatory skills for DEs transfer completely to SR. I prefer the SR myself, but still have 2 DE for when the whim takes me. Be sure and ask a lot of questions, there is a wealth of knowledge to be tapped in this group.

Glad to have you Flintlock, you will find more than enough information to entertain you while you research which straight you want to use. You are making a choice that will change your idea about shaving, nothing like a straight razor "smooth" shave...nothing.

hi and welcome. congratulations on joining! As a newbie myself, spend some time looking up other things to do with this art, not just razor oggling (which is my own fault!!!) - just as important to learn about strops and razor maintenance and factor all of that into your start up costs too! Something I got a bit wrong at the beginning!

Welcome to the forum Anthony. Once you get the hang of it, there'll be no stopping you. And a cut-throat razor goes so much better with a flintlock than a mach 3 does while your on Rendezvous!
