Thread: Hello from Finland / Sweden.

Hello. I am 28-years old guy from Finland but living in Sweden at Trollhättan (Yes, it translates; Troll Hat).

I've been rather interested in Straight Razor shaving last six months or so for various reasons, one reason being that I am sick and tired spending 20 bucks per month for Gillette multiblade razors, while getting a poor shave and maximum three uses per blade. Of course there is also the coolness factor of Straight Razor shaving, one can imagine him self as Clint Eastweood, dismounting his horse after a long nights ride to catch that train robber. Stopping at a little mountain creek to refresh, give his horse some water and most importantly shave his beard. :P
I also think that shaving is the last bastion of "skincare" that women have not invaded. Rather calming and relaxing time just for your self as a guy.

When my son gets of the age I want to teach him to shave but not with some Gillette cheese grater but a tool with hundreds of years of history.

Anyways I have been lurking on the forums last six months or so and now I am about to buy my first razor, strop, soap, brush etc etc and would love to see your opinions on the set I have selected. I will return to the subject in another thread.
