Hello from KC!
Hi folks! I sure hope this is in the correct location to post as a newbie.
A little introduction, my name is Chris and I live in the middle of these United States. I am no stranger to our wonderful hobby and look forward to contributing immediately to a variety of discussions. Looks like I have actually had an account here for a while but got settled into another forum that will remain unmentioned. I have deleted my account at that place so as to not have any issues.
SO...here I am!
I first started using a VDH brush and soap combo around 20 years or so ago with a Gillette Sensor. I initially started it just to be frugal, can you imagine that now?! Well, I kept using it while moving up to a Mach 3 because I could tell a difference with it over canned goo. Around this same time frame my Grand Mother gave me a Gillette Super Speed that was my Grand Father's, it turned out later to be a 1953. The short version of the story is that I never used it but merely kept it in a drawer in my bathroom. Around 5 years ago I started getting real fed up with the prices of blades going up and the mass marketing machine that was developing new razors for me to purchase, all at higher cost I might add. So, I started researching alternatives and decided to buy blades to use with Grandpa's ole razor.
The rest as they say is history! I now have spent much more enjoying our hobby than I probably ever would have using the methods that I was using and regretting every single shave.
Thanks for listening to me ramble but I love to tell and hear other's story about our little niche! I look forward to diving in 100% into SRP!~ KC Chris ~
