    Default Hello from Ar

Hey everyone, just wanted drop in and introduce myself. I'm new to the straight razor shaving world. I don't actually have a razor yet (my gf is getting me a Dovo for Christmas. I did some research before telling her what to look for.) but I'm looking forward to learning and enjoying this old art!

Hi and welcome. Make sure to get a strop, soap and brush aswell. Watch the kids and hopefully you'll have a reasonable idea when you get started.

Thanks! I have a strop on the way and I recently got some cream from TAOS and a brush that I'm learning to work a lather. No kids at home to worry about and I'm really getting excited about learning to SR shave. But I'll have to wait until after Christmas before I get to get try it bc the razor is going to be a Christmas gift. I'll be doing a lot of reading and watching videos until then. Thanks again!

I sent her a link to one from SRD to get me because after research from this website I decided that was the way to go. It's not that I've got my heart set on a Dovo as much as it's a good brand that has a reliable quality that isn't too expensive to get into this new adventure with!

I'll do plenty of reading before asking questions. I appreciate all the offers of help and info so far!

I received my first razor at Christmas. It was also a Dovo Bizmark. Enjoy!
