Thanked: 0New from Georgia
Hello SRP community!
After not being able to shave more than once every three days due to razor burn, I came across wet shaving while on the internet a few months ago. I started out with a cheap $9 kit from Walmart and a DE Merkur razor and was thoroughly impressed. I could now shave every day without tearing up my face, and was able to get a much closer shave. I then upgraded to a badger brush and pre-shave oil, and purchased a disposable blade Parker straight razor. After a couple months with the Parker and Merkur, I decided to finally go all in and get a Dovo and strop. Although I have already cut the strop a few times (the trials and tribulations of learning a new skill), this has upgraded my experience even more.
I'm excited to be part of this community and continue learning the art of straight razor shaving!

Welcome bfcmonster, let me complement you on the slow and careful approach you took to get to SRP membership. I only wish all those looking to join took the studious approach that you have. It would save them months of frustrations to get to their first successful shave. I look forward to read of your rapid advances that you are going to make and report on in these forums. But remember, some of us, the worldwide membership also contains people with wild and weird senses of humor that suddenly appear out of nowhere, sometimes in the middle of a thread. What I am saying is while serious we never lose sight of the lighter and happier side of life. Enjoy your ride and take us on a few of your own.

Whada I tell you. You got the Aussie crew and me from Oregon with both serious advise and a little humor thrown in as spice. And all the other members too.
