Thanked: 0New-ish from Texas
Hello all, long time lurker, first time poster. Started using a straight razor about a year ago, now using it full-time after my electric gave up the ghost. At the moment I'm studying how to hone straight razors as well.
Currently I shave with a modern-production Dovo Carre. I just recently picked up a lovely Kiebitz 7-day set that's at least twice as old as I am (pics coming soon) and just found that at least the Saturday razor is surprisingly shave-ready :-D
As far as honing goes, I recently picked up a horribly mis-ground W.H. Morley piece and proceeded to set a new bevel on it. Now I'm just waiting for some finer stones to refine the edge...

Welcome aboard! I lurked for years myself before deciding to join the fun. Sounds like you have the bug for sure and yet wisely waited to take up honing. We spend so much time talking about honing that a newcomer can get the idea that he must hone and tries the deep water too soon. Congrats.
