Hello From Maine
Hello, I've been lurking for a couple of months now, and I finally got all my shaving stuff together. I found a Nice JR Torrey in a nearby antique store, had it honed professionally and have been shaving with it for a couple of weeks now.
I'm going slow, had a few cuts but hope to be able to get as good a shave with the SR as I do with my old Schick Injector. I'd also like to learn to hone my own blade, and eventually be able to help somebody else someday. Lots of great info here. Thanks to all.

Thanks all for the welcome and the encouragement. It really do enjoy shaving with the straight. Even though I was getting BBS shaves with my schick injector and GEM junior, I'm getting shaves like I used to with the trac ll years ago (only 1 pass) with the straight(2 passes WTG) plenty of 5 o'clock shadow, looks OK in the AM though.
I'll be patient I understand the 100 shave learning curve. I'm only into my 3rd week. I hope my wife can be as patient she misses those BBS shaves.
