Hi and welcome. Depending on wheather you're using a sr or a shavette might be an idea to check out the relevant forum on how to shave for some tips.

Welcome to SRP.
Tip the First. Read through the Library's beginners guide it is very helpful.
Tip the Second. Learn to shave yourself first and then to shave others.
Tip the Third. Start slow and gentle, but don't fear the process or tools.
