    Smile Hi Guys

    Hello All,

I've recently jumped into shaving with a straight razor, and wanted to say hi and thanks for all the help I have gotten from this forum. I've been using my new 6/8 Dovo Best Quality for about 10 days now and really enjoying it. I have acquired a plethora of soaps/creams (and still wanting more) and just been going after it. A few nicks of course but not too bad. Overall, I've impressed myself with how well I have been doing. I foresee me wanting to acquire a few more razors soon. Shaving used to be something I dreaded and so I would shave every 2 or 3 days (or longer) even though my beard definitely could use it every day. Now, it has become something I am looking forward to every day. Thanks again!

    -Greg

    Hi Greg,

    Welcome to SRP!

That Dovo is a good razor, you'll like it a lot, I think.

Buying razors can be quite addictive, I'm a razoholic. Really try not to start buying too many until you've studied up and become knowledgable about what's good, what to look for, what to pass on. It'll save you a lot of money!!

If you add a general location, i.e. like mine, to your profile, it'll many times pay off by members who live close to you offering assistance.

I know what you mean about looking forward to shaving, my experience too!

Enjoy the forum, and when you have questions, ask away, lots of good folks here ready to help!!

Below, in my signature line you'll find two links. One to read, and the 2nd a video. Both are excellent resources.

    Best Regards,

    Howard

Welcome, it's easy to get drawn in with all the accoutrements isn't it. I wouldnt go too crazy just yet, try and work out what you like first.
Please feel free to ask any questions that you need answers too, just bear in mind that :
I have no idea if the moon landing was real.
I don't know if aliens and flying saucers are really a government cover up.
I don't know how crop circles are made.
I don't know whether ghosts are real.
But other than stuff like that, ask away.

Welcome to cut-throat central Greg. They're a helpful bunch around here, and I'm sure you'll like it here. If you'll just excuse me for now. I have to poke some fun at Ed...

1/ Who was the first Phantom?

2/ Are Ley lines real? And if so, where can I get a map of them?

3/ Who made the White Horse carving? And is it really in Dover?

4/ Why are Australian bush flies so annoying?

5/ Where did we go wrong in this country?

6/ Is the Australian National Anthem really worth the effort? Or should we find a more respectable tune to whistle?

7/ Why do sports people get paid more than smarter people?

8/ Who consumes the most junk food in the world? I'm talking about the one individual here and not a country as such.

9/ What are the two languages spoken in the Chubut Valley in Patagonia? Why is this so?

10/ Do you want me to ask you any more questions?

    1- Michael Crawford.
    2- yes, on the internet.
3- some pagans, and there may be one in Dover, but the famous one is in Westbury (near where I used to live). They also did phaluses.
4- it's the accent, especially the Queensland ones.
    5- letting the welsh in.
6- I would prefer to sing "the voice" at my swearing in ceremony but there you go.
7- because they are actually smarter than the smart people.
8- jimmy five bellies. (he is real)
9- English, and loud slow english for when they go to foreign, or visitors come. Because it is the only language worth learning.
10- do you want any more answers?

1/ Christopher Walker became the first Phantom in 1536

    2/ True

    3/ True

4/ They came over from England as convicts originally, and they still have the accent and aristocratic toff nosed attitude towards others.

5/ That Dutch would probably argue that point and say that English Pirate William Dampier. As for me, Well I think the more Welsh, Irish and Scots here the better.

6/ Not in the slightest. It only gets some guts to it in the unsung verses three onwards, and I don't know how anyone can stomach to get past verse two...Oh hang on...We don't. So yes, we need a new tune. 'The Voice' would be just as good as any.

7/ I would argue more a case of 'Dumb luck', but who's to say for sure, so late in the career of most of those blokes. A few solid knocks to the head has to do some sort of damage.

8/ I'll take your word for it...He must be English .

9/ Spanish, and of course the language of heaven, Welsh

10/ Yes. Where is the Loch Ness monster...Right now?

    Mick
