    Default Hello from Seattle!

    Hi everyone!

I just ordered a Straight razor kit from SRD over the weekend and its here already on tuesday! Thats some rediculous fast shipping!

So just a little about why I have decided to take up shaving with a straight razor.
the cost is one point that sold me. After the first cost I think the kit i bought is a sound investment.
I really dislike buying the 5 pack of crap one-two blade bics for 10-12 bucks. along with the creme and gels out there that last not long at all. I can't see spending 30 on a handle then spending blah blah yada yada I know I'm sure you all have heard that before!

But the main reason is a month ago I found out I'm going to be having a son soon.
ever since that day i have been pushing myself to do things like like pursuing my recording harder( I'm a musician,guitar/vocals) and finishing my photography business. I want to leave a legacy that hopefully he can one day out do, and achieve more than i could ever give him. Now I never learned how to shave from my dad I learned on my own since I never lived with him. If I could pass down my razor and teach him a skill for a life time that would be really great!

So with that said I am now going to go conduct my first shave!
    talk to everyone soon!

Hi and welcome. That's a get incentive to get started. There are many of us just waiting for our sons to be old enough to pass this tradition along. Do lots of library reading and watch the vids as they can make the learning curve much less. Good luck and so slowly it will work out easier on the end.

Yeah well you blokes can have your sons. I'm gonna teach my girls to shave their legs...Wait...Do I have to practice that on myself first or can I transfer directly from face shaving to leg shaving....Well...I'm gonna try to teach my girls how to shave their legs without practicing on myself first! And legs is much more real estate than your boys face! I'm not jealous at all!

Balding your leg'll make you treadly faster .
I've a girl too, and if she wants (in about 10 years) she can try out my razors.

I was doing 48kph (downhill of course. I'd be flat out reaching 24 kph on the flat ) on my mountain bike the other day with hairy legs and that was quite fast enough.
