Thanked: 1Ern Ator 7 day set
Hi All,
This is my 1st post but I've been hanging around for quite a while picking up info and learning I must say that you guys have been a great help to me learning this new hobby of mine. I think without the reassurance from you guys I would have missed out on one of life's great experiences, straight razor shaving.
Unfortunately I have now succumbed to Razor Buyers addiction and I think it's terminal!!! I have the worst type unfortunately I also have a bathroom full of soap pots.
I wanted your advice on The Ern Ators I've just managed to pick up a cased named day set from fleabay with alternating scale colours for days of the week. Are these good razors orjust cheap versions of the Crown and Sword?
The case needs some restoration I haven't come across any threads on case restoration so woul appreciate some pointers.
Finally I have also got an addiction to Razor Hones. Is there any scientific method to assess the fineness of the hones other than the way they shave i.e looking at scratch patterns etc.
Thanks again for all the help you've given me so far.
Regards, Chris

Welcome! Lots of questions, Chris! Ern razors are great. I have not seen an Ator in any color but black. Give us a picture of that set. Search the forum about particular hones in the search box at top right. You will garner much info!

I rest my case.

Thanked: 1Really bad photos I'm afraid but the best I could get from ebay. They will need some work but from what you said they may be worth the effort.
