Thanked: 0Hello from Western Canada!
Hey Gang, glad I found this site! I went for my first 'Hot Shave' at the new barber in town and immediately had to buy a razor. It ended up being a DOVO Shavette - at that time I had no idea there was a difference between a straight razor and a shavette. Steep learning curve. After bleeding lots on my first shave, I have now gotten to a point where no blood is shed. I just ordered my first actual straight razor and can't wait to get it and give it a try. Until then, off to read some posts...

Thanked: 6Hello from further west!
Welcome to SRP jtopher. I'm quite new as well, I've been shaving with a SR for just almost 2 months now, also started with a Shavette and now moved to a full straight razor just this past weesk.
I have two different blades that I alternate daily, a Dovo and a Theirs-Issard... and I'm absolutely in love with this type of shaving.
I used to hate shaving, I used the mach 3 cartridges and shaved once every two weeks or so, after starting with the straight I actually look forward to shaving every day.
Cheers from Rainy Vancity!!

Great that you have a razor enroute but we need to get you set up.
You will need a brush, soap and a strop to get started.S.L.A.M.,.......SHAVE LIKE A MAN!!!
