    Default Magazine straight razor article

    Gentlemen,

From time to time I write a short article for a local publication on the world of traditional shaving. These pieces are meant for the general public and those considering a fling with traditional shaving. My topics vary from straight razors, double edge razors, brushes, and so on. I am limited to 700 words, about three double-spaced typewritten pages, so there is no room to get too specific. Here is the latest, hoping it will be of some help to newcomers. Enjoy, and thanks for reading:

Perhaps you should find some friends, set them up and show them the ropes of strait razor shaving and then write about their experiences.

That's a great article to whet the appetite of those who have maybe seen a straight razor shave in a movie or barbershop, but never thought of shaving this way to get better results and enjoy the experience.

Good read, perfect tone for a beginner thinking of using a straight razor. Tells what to expect, what the investment is, and that there is a learning curve with a approximate 100 shaves to become proficient (which I agree with).

Liked the fact that you even mentioned the shavette option...

    Thanks!

Well done article and more than enough info to get some of the readers interested.

I recently started my Brother wet shaving when I gave him a "birth razor" (Super-Speed), Badger Brush, blade and soap/cream assortment. He is hooked, never going back to canned goo again. I have his starter razor and strop on standby...

A good article for those who are thinking about buying their first straight. Takes up the basics in a way that is easy to understand. Well done
