Thanked: 6new from knoxville
Hello all my name is mike, im 25 and i have a problem, im sick and tired of sub-par shaves with cheap disposables that clog constantly and irritate my skin, ive wanted to try a straight for years and have finally made the plunge by buying one in the classifieds here. Im here to learn all that i can regarding the use and care of these gleaming instruments of glorious manhood from a time when men were men and lady liberty still stood tall with her head held high.

Welcome neighbor
Sounds like you landed at the right place. Be sure to check out the library http://straightrazorpalace.com/srpwi...zor_Place_Wiki
A lot of great information to be had especially for those new to the sport.
Keep in mind there is a learning curve, for some it is short for some it is long, but the rewards are many IMO and well worth it.
Be sure to let us know if there is anything we can help with and welcome to what I and many others consider a better way.

Thanked: 2209Welcome to SRP
One of the best ways to shorten your learning curve is to meet with local guys for some 1 on 1 time. Here are a few SRP guys in Knoxville.......

Randy,
I really appreciate the way you have been promoting the meet-ups and face time as of late.
Mike and anyone else who is interested I am just over on the Johnson City side of Bristol if there is anything I can help with feel free to shoot me a PM,
even if it is just to meet up for Coffee and talk shop, I would really enjoy putting some faces with names and getting together with some fellow enthusiasts. It is just Whisker Whacking

Hello and welcome.
As long as you have patience, you will be fine, allow loads of time at first, when you have allowed that time double it and add a bit just for good measure.
It will take a while (short or long, cant tell you at this stage) but it will all come together, you will find what is right for you with regards to time spent and quality of shave and it will all be worthwhile.
Best regards ed.Bread and water can so easily become tea and toast

Welcome to SRP! All good advice above. Be sure to get yourself a strop, brush, and soap/cream; perhaps you've already done this, but I thought I'd mention it just in case. Good Luck!
