Hello from South Carolina
Hi All,
I've been lurking around for several weeks and finally took the plunge. I'm new to using soaps, brushes and straight razors. I've been using a straight razor now for about 4-5 weeks and am starting to get the hang of it though I do need more practice. Shaving is now getting interesting.Chris

Welcome. Sounds like you are just beginning to scratch the surface of the adventure that is straight shaving. Hope to see you around in the future. This place is a veritable cornucopia of information.

Thanked: 44Welcome from another SC citizen.
Charleston is one of my favorite places. There is so much history that people are not aware of. I want to go see the Hunley next time.
There is a bar on east bay street called Big Johns. One of my favorite local bars. They have Guinness on tap and a pitcher was around $8. They have slanted pool tables and a trough to take a leak in. Dive bars are my style and it is hard to find a bar around there that does not want $5 for a beer.
Big Johns is hard to find, just a single door and it use to be unmarked.
I live in the upstate about 3 hours away on I- 26 from you.Last edited by SS502MC; 12-06-2013 at 05:27 PM.

Thanks everyone for your warm welcomes. There is definitely a lot of information for me to read and lean.
Opps, to late.
Oh yeah, Big Johns is well known. Its been a while since I've been there, I don't get down town to often but I'll have to at some point. There are some amazing beautiful homes, gardens, and views.Chris

Hello and welcome
Yep, it sure takes a bit of practice. It's not to difficult to get started (well, maybe for some it is) but there is always room for improvement. Have fun and take it easy
