    Default I'm all In!

Hey guys! lurked around for a while, figured I would create a profile. I'm Brandon. Been kicking the idea of a straight razor around and after enough reading on here I finally ordered.... 2!!! Decided to go with a the dovo best 5/8 half hollow (from SRD). And a vintage Barbers Best supply co. made in germany 5/8 of ebay for 45? Anyways went with the illinois strop, fromm dressing, and some co bigelow cream, now just working on getting a brush before it all arrives. Anyways, I'm all in! lol I can see how this gets addictive and I haven't even started yet! But I like the idea of a shaver that will last, give a close shave, and reminds me of the first barber shop experience... try to post some pics of the latter blade later if ya want.

Welcome! Don't think you can probably go wrong with a razor from SRD. There are lots of forum members skilled with hones if your ebay razor doesn't arrive shave ready. Congrats on the purchase and good luck with the brush hunt!

Welcome to mind blowing info and chatter. I hope in your lurking you understood that you first must start getting good DFSs before thinking of refreshing your edges before learning to do your own honing. Other than that, ask all the questions you want because we all like to answer them. So be prepared for multiple responses with varying viewpoints - all in the name of a damn good shave!

10-4, yeah I've got one free honing available through SRD, and the seller of the other blade from some city in florida who sells massive amounts of razors said that the razor was "shave ready" and it had been honed and stropped. but I take that with a grain of salt... I will no doubt be shipping them out at first. But will probably try to pick up the skill later on... If I still have a face left.
