Thread: Hello from Tennessee

I am totally new to straight razor shaving, and I have to say I love it!!!
I have been de shaving for a month or so, and came across this site.
Started to look at shaving places to purchase from, thats when I came across SRD.
I ordered up a Ralf Aust 5/8 starter set from SRD, it came to my house yesterday.
This is a work of art!!! I shaved with it this morning, sharp and smooth!!!
Anyway, look forward to learning more about straight razor shaving.

Welcome to the forum!!

You purchased a nice razor. I use mine on a regular basis.

Look through the Library, linked above just under the SRP logo. There are topics for almost everything on straight shaving. Also in my signature line below there are two very good links. One article and a video. They'll help a lot with getting a good start on a comfortable shave. The search box at the top right is an excellent resource for finding info quickly.

Enjoy the forum, and if you need help on something, etc......don't hesitate to ask. Lots of helpful members here.

Thank you for the warm welcome!! The set I purchased from SRD came with world of straight razor shaving dvd.
I watched that last night, it shed light on the art of shaving!!!

Im already wanting to get an older J.A. Henckels to add to the rotation

Hey Traveler! Welcome to SRP! I'm in Crossville and been shaving with str8s for over 5 years. I also buy, restore, do some custom work and sell str8 razors....don't have a JA Henckels though, sold mine awhile back. Good luck finding one and Merry Christmas!
