    Default New from NW Florida

    Hey everyone.
I've been on a long search for what I want as an introductory razor. I think I may have found it. It is a Trud "Vacha" stamped 1954. I just ordered it tonight and it's coming from Russia. Supposedly military NOS.
I have been wanting a SS straight razor for a while. I like shiny chrome and things like that.
Well along the way to finding this I have come across so many blogs and websites that say to start with joining this forum, so here I be.
If anyone has heard of/used the razor I am waiting on, please give me your input. Anyway, I am looking to like this so much that I build up to wanting to buy a 7 day kit. I've had my eye on a TI set for a while.
Hope to hear from you all. Have fun, be safe.

    Thanks!
I will definitely post them. It will be a little while. It's going to my house in the U.S., then the wife will have to ship it to me in the desert.

Hi and welcome. Check out the library for starter info and to get an idea of the basics and do some reading and by the time you get the razor you will have the knowledge to get the most out of your shaves. Just make sure your razor is shave ready(from honing not from factory). Good luck. Ed

Aw dang. I was hoping to get right to it. I see there are fellers that do honing in this group.

There are vendors in the classifieds that do honing but try find a local mentor if possible as they will be able to help with everything as well as honing. The problem with true NOS vintage blade is its a factory edge that has seen no care for a long time. It may be alright but is probably lacking a bit.
