    Default Hello from Oregon

Hello all, been at this wet shaving for almost a month now and just realized I hadn't posted here yet.
My kit at the moment is a Parker Shavette, the blades I like so far are Derby extras and Crystal in the blue pack. Going to be trying Feathers soon, I have a 10 pack that is coming up in the rotation of blades to try. My go to cream is C.O Bigelow, and my go to soap is Ogallala Bay rum & Sanalwood. And I've got a VdH Boar brush and a Vulfix pure badger brush.

Been loving it, so much nicer on the face than a M5 cartridge razor. Have worked myself up to the full 3 passes, still working on getting the XTG a little cleaner, but not rushing it.

The other bowl in this picture is Col Conks Almond scented, I don't like it much, but it smells nice. I am also waiting on a bottle of Ogallala Br & Sw to arrive in the mail to match up with the soap.

Welcome to the addiction! I used a shavette for the first year myself, I think it's great way to learn the basics without having to worry about the upkeep aspect of a traditional straight. Where about in Oregon are you? I grew up in Lebanon (45 min south of Salem).
The older I get the more I realize how little I actually know.

Welcome Zenoth, always nice to have another Oregonian join SRP. Please adjust your info so it shows where you are in Oregon. You might be right next door to another member or within face to face distance with a great mentor. Glad you are taking a slow logical approach to what I call daily ritual suicide. hehehe Make sure you ask a lot of questions. The answers are at your fingertips.
