Hello From Scotland.
Hi Everyone. Im relatively new on here. I started shaving with a shavette around 2 or so weeks ago and will soon be in the market for a good straight razor. I've visited the site back and forward as a guest If I was stuck with anything or to do some reading and take a look at the classifieds so once I actually started using a straight I thought it was time to register. So hello to all, looking forward to being part of the reading and posting community. Already had a post and the Information I got was excellent so like I say, Im glad to be part of the community.

Hi, and welcome to SRP!
What part of Scotland are you in? I ask partly out of curiosity as I spent six years in St Andrews in grad school, and partly because you might find someone who lives nearby who can lend you a helping hand when needed.
Congrats on making the move to wet shaving, and best of luck in your search for a straight. When you do buy one, make sure it has been properly honed to a shave-ready. That will save you a lot of grief.
It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

Hello and thanks for the warm welcome. St Andrews is really nice, I've been there quite a few times but I live on the South West Coast in a Town called Prestwick in Ayrshire, a couple of hours from St Andrews. Thanks for the advice on having the blade properly honed and shave ready, before I make any decisions on which blade to buy I will be consulting with you guys to see what kind of blades I should be looking at and makers etc. I've just noticed your in Ontario, I visited Toronto Ontario around 10 years ago and thought it was great place with really friendly people.
