New guy here.
Hi there folks, just thought I'd send greetings from Aussie. I've been a wet shaver for over 35 years and have always not only wanted, but, desired to use a straight razor... I guess my first shave at a real barbers had me hooked... Now at 48 I feel I not only have to, but need to finally take the plunge into something that has held my heart for decades. Finances have always been a problem, blame the Ex or forever bailing the Daughter out of trouble, but, it never eventuated. Now is the time for change,( A new years resolution) having been looking at shaving vids on youtube I stumbled across this site. Perhaps I can finally have something work out?
Anyway, I'm looking forward to spending time here and, hopefully, taking my first steps with the shaving style I should have always been using and tossing the disposables for good.
Yours; Benny.

Thanked: 4828Welcome. There is a lot of knowledge around, if you don't see it ask. The straight razor shave has been a gold standard for a very very long time!

Hi all, thanks for the warm welcome. @MickR, I've been considering a nice "Shave ready" Dovo 5/8th razor (not overly fussed on how fancy she looks, just need one for developing technique and doing what it's designed for)
A half way decent strop would be needed too. I already have a basic brush, though a new one is probably needed , mines getting a little ratty after all this time. I can always piece the rest together as I progress.
@eddy79, I've been "perusing" all the fine info in the library and watching so many shave vids I'm getting a little jealous
Once again, thanks; Benny.
