    Hello SRP,

My granfather used to own a barber shop, and I guess that is where the fascination started for me. My father only shaved with a basic cartridge type razor, and always complained about shaving. When it came time for me, you guessed it, cheapo basic cartridge, and also miserable. So much so that I really only ever shaved every other day. I always sort of new that there was a better way, but kept believing that "modern" Gillette Fusion type had to be the most comfortable, right?

So I have tried every canned shaving cream and gel out there and always disappointed. Finally tried a good badger hair brush and a good cream, and I could not beleive the difference just that made!

Tomorrow my first Dovo Silver Steel will arrive and I cannot wait to see the difference.

I know there will be a learning curve, but it can only get better with time and patience!

My name is Anthony but everyone calls me T (short for Tony).

Hi and welcome T. Check out the library for all the starter info and the other basics of Sr shaving. Any questions feel free to ask. Once you get the hang of it you will never go back and shaving will not come soon enough. Good luck. Ed
My wife calls me......... Can you just use Ed

Hey T, welcome to the forum.
I understand you look forward to shaving with it, so did I.
Just be sure your razor is shave ready, it might be best to send it to someone from the forum to check it and hone it if needed.
Not all razors sold as shave ready are really shave ready, I learned it the bad way...
    Sometimes I feel normal.
Then it's time to lay down and wait for it to pass.
