Thanked: 0Hi from Auckland
Hello all,
I've been shaving with my father's old Gillette DE (to use the abbreviations common on Reddit's Wicked_Edge forum) for a couple years now, and decided to try out an SE (straight/cutthroat etc). I've just purchased a used Bengall in need of some TLC - minor rust and pitting, and I'm thinking of trying to clean it up and have it honed.
Anybody know if there's anyone in New Zealand who has a good reputation for honing?
Looking forward to some good discussions ahead!

Hello welcome to the SRP, there are few Kiwis on the forum who will point you in the right direction.

Thanked: 1587Hello and welcome to SRP!
Here's a list of members who came up on a search of members located in New Zealand: http://straightrazorpalace.com/membe...sername&order=
Of those, check out the ones who have a recent "last visit" date to see who may be active. I'm sure they'd be happy to lend a hand or give advice if you PMed them.

Hi there Hubris2 Welcome there is a wealth of info on here, As for someone to hone there is this guy on TM who sells new SE and Strops GentlemansBlade I think He offers to get his TM blades shave ready so maybe he would be up to doing it. I have been thinking of getting in contact with him to see as I need one professionally done so I can compare against what I am doing.
