Thanked: 0Hello from central New York (where it's very cold this winter)
Hi All. My Braun electric just died and now it's time to move on. I am set on either a vintage straight razor or some kind of DE safety razor, either new or vintage. I'll be looking through the forums for info on the vintage SR. So far I've been pretty overwhelmed with all the info I don't have. I've got about two months worth of cartridge razors. I would like to get my SR so there can be a transition period. Wish me luck.
Great forum.

Hello! One of my roommates still uses his electric and even when I heard it last night from the other room (thought it was a lawnmower at first) I was hoping it would break. You see, I'm trying to get him into straight razor shaving as well. Ah well, someday I suppose! Anywhos, welcome to the forums and good luck with your vintage SR quest!!

Thanked: 0"Scharie" county. That's funny. Actual question: Is that a regional joke, or did you come up with that yourself? Speaking of your neck of the woods, I just passed up an ebay auction with 3 vintage razors, two of which were stamped from Germany. The guy was out of Sharon Springs. I almost put a bid on it, but stopped myself because I don't know what I'm doing. The bid was up to $20 for the three of them with 5 minutes left to go. I just logged off and walked away. This is driving me nuts.
I'm actually from the real central New York area. I'm south of Utica a good stretch down the road.

Welcome to SRP from Illinois that also has been very cold this year. Lots of information available. Just take your time and ask questions. Plenty to learn and lots of good teachers on this forum willing to help.
