Default A newbie from Hong Kong

Following in the footsteps of other Junior members before me, I'll introduce myself to finally become part of the Forum. My foray into DE and SR shaving has not yet started (was hoping this morning, but I'm at the mercy of UPS). However, I caught this bug literally this past weekend, and I can already identify the RAD symptoms grabbing a hold of me. I detest my morning ritual. Have done so for years, and never really thought of looking into how to make this inevitable experience more enjoyable. To make matters worse, I do not have a heavy coarse beard, which means that daily shaving means that I'm just slicing through layers of skin compliments of a Mach 3 shaver. I've finally decided, after some serious razor burn that I've had enough, and through some down time at work, I stumbled across SRD, SRP, and geofatboy's youtube instructional videos. I am now anxiously awaiting my first pieces of kit, a Muhle R89 DE, and an Aust 5/8 SR. I'm looking forward to shaving with both and learning to master the old art form of proper shaving techniques using these timeless methods.

I an expat living in Hong Kong, and the heat and humidity of the local climate make the razor burns more noticeable on my face. I'm glad to see that there are other members from this area of the world, and hopefully I will be able to exchange ideas and techniques with those that are more experienced than me. RAD had taken a hold, and I'm sure I will end up with more than 1 shaver soon enough. The custom made pieces I've seen on parts of this forum are extremely nice.

I any case, glad to finally be part of this interesting community.
