    Default new guy in WA

    hey everyone how's it going?
The other day my girlfriend and I were walking through the mall and I spotted an art of shaving store, desperate to not go into another clothing store and curious as to what they offer we went in. Thirty minutes later I walked out thinking about my great grandfather shaved with a straight razor and also thinking that the salesman seemed to not know very much about shaving with a straight or DE razor and also thinking that the prices seemed rather steep. Now being the kind of gent I am I hopped on the internet and searched for a strongbox of knowledge about shaving and that is how I arrived on the doorstep of a library of knowledge known as the Straight Razor Place. Now with an order in at whipped dog, a starter kit from AoS and an amazon strop and mug I anxiously await my first straight shave (other than in a barbers shop)

P.S. I foresee too razors in my future, my girlfriend has seemed oh so interested in them after feeling my face. Any recommendations for a good Straight for a lady to use on her legs?

backpacker93, if you add to your bio where in WA you are and post asking about mentors and members in your area you can most likely gain great one-on-one experience which will beat all the reading and video watching I'm sure you've done since joining. I know of one mentor in WA that can guide you carefully down the road of straight razor shaving. A great wealth of knowledge about shaving and honing (he has honed a number of my razors to perfection.)

Thanks for the tip Razorfield, where should I display such a post?
I will definitely expand my bio when I get back to a real computer, typing on this tablet is pretty irritating.

Right here on this thread that you started. Also, if I remember right, if you go to the members list I think there is a way to sort to find members in your area. As a matter of fact, I'll go try that now.

backpacker, go to community, members list, upper right corner - search members and advanced search. You will get results by entering in location, Washington State - brings up a short list. Enter WA State - brings up one person, cudarunner, a mentor who also hones my razors. Enter Seattle - a big list of members in the Seattle area. I would imagine if you entered any major city or town in Washington you would get a list of members in that area. Good luck and let me know how you do.

    Welcome to the forum.
Very soon, your girlfriend will walk into clothing stores, desperate to keep you away from shaving supplies stores

    Sometimes I feel normal.
Then it's time to lay down and wait for it to pass.

So does anyone here know of any good french restaurants in the Issaquah area? Burger joints with french fries don't count.
