Default Hello from a new shaver

Hello everyone, I've just started shaving with a safety razor and brush. When I received my safety razor it came with two plastic straight razors that I quickly hacked my face up with lol. I had told my mother all of this and she searched threw her saved heirlooms and found my great great uncles straight razor. He was a barber and this is the one he used. I'm just in the process of sending it out to be honed and I'm going to buy a strop and learn to shave with it. I'll attach some photos of the razor. It's a wedge razor by Wade and Butcher. I'm sure some of you here can tell me all about it lol. Not sure if I posted the photos right.

Hi and welcome. That's a beautiful razor from a good manufacturer and should be a wonderful shaver. For some info maybe post pics in the razor forum the guys in there really know their razors or check out the database in the library. While there do some reading in the library as all the info on the basics is there and youtube has heaps of tutorial vids to help you get started. Any questions feel free to ask. Good luck

Thanks everyone. I have done some reading in the library and looked on YouTube. I will be a while in learning the art of a real shave but it will be worth it. I seem to migrate more and more to the older ways of doing things.

Welcome to the party. You have inherited a great razor. Before using it I suggest that a fresh edge be put on it by one of our competent honemasters.
