Thanked: 0Another Newb from Brooklyn
Good morning,
I've been "shaving" for the last 20+ years (closer to 30 )!
Always heard it said, that the more you shave the more you will need to shave!
When it all began, I needed to shave my "peach fuzz" while in ROTC. Then I got a job where I could not wear facial hair below the top lip or ear lobes.
Started out needing to shave once a week. It quickly became twice a week. Then I suffered with razor bumps !
Now, I like to stay "clean" but didn't really like to shave and don't like to be scruffy. Even when I take a break from shaving & grow a full beard, I like it to be neat.
I've mainly used disposable razors, everything from single to quintuple blades. But I also picked up & like a straight razor.
I have an Uncle that uses one and I always thought it was so cool! And he was always had a nice clean shave.
Then I used one to clean up the lines when I gave my Dad & Grandpa hair cuts.
I use one to shave (the disposable blade type) but would really like to get "real" ones. And looking at some pics, there are some fine looking ones out there.
Plus I figure, if I have to shave why not use the best that I can and pamper myself while at it!
I look forward to learning a lot and hopefully can become a contributing member for others in my current state.
This is what I have been using:

Looking forward to getting some better equipment in the near future.Last edited by Brimy623; 02-19-2014 at 02:55 PM.

Come to the March 1st meet up. Plenty of local guys to meet. Get a free honing too along with some fresh roasted coffee and a bagel.

Is it March 1st or March 2nd? I've seen posts indicating both.
