Thanked: 3Hello from Houston Tx
Hello guys, Joe here in Houston. I grew up in Louisiana and live here now. I started wet shaving about a year ago. I have several nice gillette safety razors and recently have started in the straight razor world. My in laws found a couple straight razors at an antique store (Joseph Rogers and Sons, and a Boker) and picked them up for me knowing that I was starting to collect and use. I've been able to hone and strop to shave ready and have successfully completed 5 shaves with these razors (only slight facial mutilation has occurred).
I really wish I discovered this years ago. I am becoming addicted to this way of life. Of course, my wife loves it because she is all things vintage. It's something we enjoy together, going to antique shops (she looks for her pyrex and decor, I look for razors).
Just wanted to say hi and look forward to learning from you guys.

Hi Joe,
Welcome to the forum!! Glad you signed on and I know you'll find a ton of info here. The search function at the top right is invaluable for finding all sorts of stuff.
One thread you should look at is here, a Houston meetup http://straightrazorpalace.com/get-t...ml#post1260920 You can learn more at one day of these events than by months of reading. The main contact for the meet would be sharptonn.
Hope you enjoy the forum, and again....Welcome!!
Best Regards,
Howard
