Thanked: 0Howdy from Oregon
Greetings SRP forum!
I'm a complete neophyte looking to kick the cartridge habit. I have practice keeping kitchen and pocket knives in good working order, but now I'd like to refine honing skills and go a bit 'greener' with proper shaving techniques. I'm looking forward to learning from you all.
Kind Regards

Thanked: 4826Welcome. Although the principles are common the technique is completely different. You will still create a bevel and the refine and polish it as with all sharpened steel, the geometry of the razor creates the angle to which it is sharpened. You amy either have a head start when you start honing or a handicap. It can fall either way. There is a large amount of information here. It is usually best to start with a shave ready razor and lear to shave and then if you are up for the challenge, learn to hone. However, small steps. There is a wiki and videos etc in the library tab at the top. Enjoy!
It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!
