    Default One more starter

    Hi

Here's one more starter from holland. Today I shaved with a straigt razor for the first time (I didn't do the part around my mouth). One little cut under my chin, but it was not too bad. And a totally new experiance, which I really enjoyed. I bought a Dovo Bismarck 6/8. For now, I really like it, although I don't have much to compare it with.

welcome metsie! glad to hear you enjoyed the first experience, I was very tense my first go around, only did the cheeks and upper lip area, too nervous to do the neck! second shave I went all in and my chin was wishing I hadn't, haha. I like your taste in blade, ive owned/still own hundreds and hundreds of different blades and the 6/8 dovo Bismarck is still my favorite. just used it my second to last shave ago. a lot of other german blades feel nice, and some very similar. my recommendation for a second razor would be a torrey, ive owned more torreys than probably any other razor and have enjoyed every one. take care, enjoy the shaves!

Thank you all. Feeling how much I enjoyed my last shave, and how it went, I'm sure there will still be many straight razor shaves to come.

@silverloaf. I sure was nervous, especially with the neck. At some places I didn't even know how to hold my razor, and I couldn't see where I wanted to shave. But my first shave (until now I only used gilette fusion) went really good.
Thanks for the recommendation for my second / next razor. For now one is enough, but I'm afraid I already have a new addiction now. At least it's a lot healthier than smoking (most of the time) .
