Thanked: 0Yet another Dutchie...
Hi there,
I'm Ramon, a 39 year old bloke from the Netherlands. Last year I started traditional wet shaving with a DE razor after finding and signing into the Dutch shaving forum and reading about others having the same problems with multi blade mowers as I did. From that point on a whole new world opened up for me, and I can say "never ever back to the cartridge". I'd rather scrape my beard off with a brick (which isn't all that different).
But I have always had an eye on straights because of the vintage and somewhat mysterious feel off it, and had always wanted to explore and try them out. So recently I finally had the balls and bought a vintage straight off eBay. It probably won't be a fantastic razor, but I'll just have to start somewhere and learn from my mistakes. I found a member of the Dutch forum, who is an experienced honer, willing to make the razor shaveready. In the meantime I also ordered a poor man's strop kit.
Now I'll just have to wait impatiently for my razor to be sent back, and it's off we go! Can't waitI just LOVE the smell of sandalwood in the mornin', but a nice Tcheong Fung Sing bergamotto neroli will do too...
