Usually, for me at least, I start with an all over WTG, then I re-lather and go ATG all over, re-lather again and go XTG on the cheeks and an ATG pass again on the neck line. Sometimes I'll also add a scything stroke along the cheek and neck area as well.
Heh, all those acronyms get confusing. The reality of my facial hair is that everything grows almost straight across from the center line of nose, lips, chin towards my ears with a very slight downward tilt including my neck. Except my mustache and chin which grow downward (NS?) but mostly straight out think Lanny McDonald or Friedrick Nietzsche and is like cutting a corn broom if the razor isn't at its best.
